Tailor-made EDI interfaces serve to automate\nprocesses and ensure smooth cooperation.In 2009, Japanese power tool\nmanufacturer Makita was looking for a competent international logistics\nprovider to handle the company&#8217;s overseas shipments from Asia, including\non-forwarding throughout Austria. <strong>Makita\nchose cargo-partner for its extensive network and solid expertise in overseas\nand intermodal transports<\/strong>. Today, the logistics provider handles Makita&#8217;s\nseafreight and airfreight imports from Asia along with further distribution in\nEurope, including daily pickup, overnight delivery and comprehensive import and\nexport customs clearance. The customs EDI feeds Makita\u2019s data for customs declarations into cargo-partner\u2019s system and automatically forwards it to the official Austrian customs system. After final approval by a customs clearance specialist, the data is then automatically transmitted to the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance. For one of Makita\u2019s customers, cargo-partner has even set up an \u201cautomatic milestone notification\u201d feature: For instance, as soon as a shipment\u2019s status changes to \u201cpick up\u201d or \u201cdelivered\u201d, the customer is immediately notified via e-mail.
